Class Format
- In Person: The class is held in person, usually with the classroom lecture portion taking place at one of our training sites, and the range portion taking place at a nearby range (locations will be stated in the selection).
- Hybrid: The classroom lecture portion is held online via Zoom, taught by a live instructor. Students attend via the Zoom platform. After completing the lecture portion, students and instructors meet together at a nearby range for the range portion.
Description
Our Basic Handgun live fire course is intended as an introductory course for those wishing to improve their confidence and skills, as well as those wishing to move on to more advanced courses, regardless of prior shooting experience. In this class students will get lessons in safety, gun handling, loading and unloading, fundamentals of pistol shooting, various pistol firing positions, with practical exercises to increase proficiency and accuracy. This course is a great addition to concealed handgun courses that do not have a range component.
NOTE: This course is taught by a certified firearms instructor, but does not meet the training requirements for an Oregon CHL.
