Description
This course is required every year to maintain an Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Armed/Unarmed Security Professional certification. The Armed/Unarmed certification itself must be renewed every two years, but the armed refresher must take place annually. The class is the same whether renewing or refreshing, the only difference is that every two years you have to submit a renewal application and fees to DPSST, and the year in-between you only have to submit the PS-6 form documenting completion of the training. The class is taught by a DPSST certified Firearms Instructor and consists of in-person training in the classroom and at the range. This course is intended for those already certified who need to maintain licensure as a condition of employment, or for those looking to stay certified for purposes of hire-ability.
This course can be completed 180 days prior to the expiration date of your certification. If this course is being taken to complete the annual qualification, it will have to be completed within the same month as expiration, 1 year prior to the expiration date.
